Quality Posters Inspired By The World's Rich History

MatchboxPosters is built on a private collection of over 20,000 original matchbox labels, carefully assembled from estate sales, private archives, and collectors around the world. It is one of the largest curated sources of vintage matchbox label art available anywhere.

We turn these tiny original artworks into premium, gallery-scale prints. Czech folk illustrations, Soviet constructivist graphics, Japanese mid-century design, Scandinavian modernism, Indian botanicals, and more, all reproduced with the colour and character of the originals intact.

Why Matchbox Art?

Before the digital age, matchbox labels were one of the most widespread forms of graphic design on earth. Produced in the billions, they were miniature canvases for some of the most inventive commercial art of the 20th century. Each label carried the visual sensibilities of its time and place, from the playful Czech schools of the 1960s to the bold graphic languages of Eastern Europe, Japan, and beyond.

Most of this art was thrown away. The labels we print from are the survivors: original paper, hand-scanned, carefully restored, and re-rendered at wall-art scale so the craft behind them can finally be seen.

Our Prints

Every poster is printed on demand on premium enhanced matte paper, available in four sizes: 11x14, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36 inches. Production takes 2 to 6 business days, and we use professional printing partners to ensure consistent, gallery-quality results. All orders ship with tracking and are packaged securely in sustainable materials.
